Le battaglie si svolgono in scenari prettamente domestici che spaziano dalle superfici della cucina al giardino di casa, inoltre, per il raggiungimento dei summenzionati obiettivi sfrutteremo anche le caratteristiche di ciascun ambiente, come ad esempio: le aree sopraelevate ed anche eventuali ostacoli che possano rallentare l'avanzata nemica. Gli scontri sono sicuramente impegnativi, almeno da un punto di vista prettamente logico, ciascuna missione, infatti, deve essere affrontata tenendo conto delle peculiarità, e quindi anche delle limitazioni, di ciascun insetto. Tecnicamente, Battle Bugs, era piuttosto all'avanguardia per l'epoca dell'uscita, la grafica sfoggiava un simpatico stile "cartoon" pulito e piuttosto definito, soprattutto per via del supporto per lo standard Super VGA, 640x480, anzi, da questo punto di vista, era senza alcun dubbio un tantino anacronistico per i tempi poiché permetteva di sfruttare addirittura una sbalorditiva 800x600!
