Thanatos

This wonderful game of Durell Software is another of those original titles that contradistinguono excellent softech the legendary ZX Spectrum . Thanatos, in fact, has been published for several other formats to eight bits, but only the versions developed for the micro Sinclair got the success they deserved, at least in termini di critica. Il protagonista del gioco è Thanatos il "Distruttore", un gigantesco Drago che, come da tradizione, non intrattiene dei buoni rapporti con il resto dell'umanità, soprattutto con quelle schiere di cavalieri che da tempo cercano di farsi vanto di una sua improbabile dipartita. Un altro modo con cui possiamo disfarci dei nemici, consiste nel catturarli con i nostri artigli così da trasportali a grandi altezze per poi lasciarli precipitare al suolo. Sempre con la medesima tecnica possiamo raccogliere un qualsiasi altro oggetto per poi farlo franare addosso agli altri in modo da distruggere più bersagli per volta. Durante gli scontri subiremo delle ferite, queste saranno indicate con il progressivo aumento del battito del nostro cuore. Il seguito del rivoluzionario Formula One Grand Prix, ma anche la quarta simulazione automobilistica del geniale Geoff Crammond, non considerando il pur ottimo Stunt Car Racer propriamente come tale. Questo titolo è stato uno dei rari casi, in verità non così infrequenti in passato, in cui un seguito è riuscito addirittura ad essere più innovativo dell'originale. Grand Prix II, infatti, riuscì a surclassare la reputazione ed il successo del primo titolo catalizzando l'attenzione di moltissimi entusiasti che continuarono a rigiocarlo per anni.
